Sensory Block

How to Play:

Lay all the cards face up and let baby explore the textures. Over time, you can introduce the concept of matching by helping them pair up identical textures.

Step 1 – Cover the Block

Cut out 6 fabric squares (one for each side of the block). Glue or sew each piece onto the sides. Mix textures to keep it interesting for baby’s hands.

Step 2 – Add Sensory Elements

Stick on ribbons, zippers, tags, or crinkly materials to different sides. You can also stitch or glue large buttons or make little pockets. Just make sure everything is very secure and safe.

Step 3 – Let It Dry & Play

Let it dry completely, check that everything’s firmly attached, and it’s ready! Let baby touch, squeeze, and explore the different sides of their new sensory toy.

Materials :

  • Small foam cube, cardboard box, or wooden block
  • Fabric scraps with different textures (satin, fleece, corduroy, burlap, etc.)
  • Ribbons, zippers, buttons (large), tags, crinkle paper
  • Hot glue gun or fabric glue
  • Needle and thread (optional)
